New Reality Show Recruits Austin Pimps

Austin, TX — The Fox Network announced a new reality show last week, set to premier in the spring of 2008. Auditions for the show will be held in Austin, Texas in November of this year.
Fox’s new show, “The Pimp,” bears similarities to ABC’s “The Bachelor,” a reality show in which one young man must choose a potential bride from among 25 beautiful women.

Only this time, the man will be a genuine pimp, who will have to choose a sole earner from among 25 talented prostitutes. The woman he chooses at the end of the season will be his primary income for a period of one year.
“In that regard, there’s more on the line than with the dating reality shows,” explained Roger Waters, executive producer of the new show.
“With dating shows like ‘The Bachelor,’ there’s not really much at stake because the man is not obligated in any way. But with ‘The Pimp,’ the man’s financial income is on the line. If he chooses the best prostitute, he can grow his bottom line. But if he chooses poorly, he could be in the po’ house, so to speak.”
In true reality show fashion, there will be many challenges and obstacles along the way. Waters would not reveal too much in advance, but he did mention high-heel races and some sort of hair-pulling battle royal. Worth tuning in for!
The Pimp will be conducting auditions in Austin, Texas in November of this year. More details will be posted on this and other news channels as they become available.
The producers tell us they have plenty of prostitute applications for the show, but they are having challenges finding just the right pimp. That’s what will bring them to Austin in November.
** Attention, Austin Pimps **
Are you a pimp in the Austin area? (We don’t mean suburban high school kids who “roll like gangstas” … we mean genuine pimps, by profession.) If so, would you like early consideration for the November audition?
Then send us a digital photo of your best pimp outfit / pose, along with any pertinent stats. We will publish your photos for all of Austin to judge, and will forward your info to the show’s producers as well. Send photos to editor@austinprobe.com.
Sound Off, Austin
